Punjab authorities are considering stricter traffic regulations that could impose fines on motorcyclists riding without side-view mirrors or working indicators. The proposal, submitted by the Lahore Traffic Police, also suggests requiring manufacturers to equip all newly produced motorcycles with permanent side mirrors.
According to officials, the absence of mirrors and indicators contributes to a significant number of road accidents. In addition to stronger enforcement, the government plans to roll out public awareness campaigns and road safety education programs to promote responsible riding and improve compliance with traffic laws across Punjab.
