Lahore Makes QR Panic Buttons Mandatory for Public Transport
Lahore Traffic Police will begin a crackdown on July 1 against public transport vehicles operating without mandatory QR panic buttons and other required safety features.
Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said rickshaws, taxis, online cab services, and other public transport operators must comply by June 30, or face legal action.
To support the campaign, QR panic buttons are being installed at 45 locations across Lahore. Officials said over 6,000 rickshaws have already been equipped, while four new licensing centres have been set up to speed up the process.
Vehicle owners must provide a valid driving licence, registration documents, and clear all pending e-challans before a QR panic button can be installed.
