Pakistan is preparing to offer toll-free travel on motorways and national highways for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) under the upcoming Auto Policy 2026–31.
The move is aimed at promoting electric and eco-friendly vehicles, including EVs, plug-in hybrids, and fuel-cell cars. The policy also plans to reduce import and assembly duties on vehicles step by step, while additional customs and regulatory taxes may be removed by 2030.
Officials believe these changes will help grow Pakistan’s auto industry, support local manufacturing, and encourage cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
