Punjab Traffic Police has launched a province-wide crackdown on motorcyclists riding without helmets. Under the new policy, violators will receive a traffic challan, and their motorcycles will be impounded for 24 hours.
The campaign aims to improve road safety and ensure helmet compliance across Punjab. Authorities are also continuing strict action against lane discipline violations after impounding over 20,000 motorcycles last month.
In addition, Punjab has introduced a digital challan system, allowing traffic tickets to be issued with digital evidence for greater transparency and more effective enforcement.
