Lahore Traffic Police has intensified its campaign against underage and unlicensed drivers throughout the city. Authorities have announced strict penalties for traffic law violations, including hefty fines and vehicle seizures.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi stated that car drivers using learner permits or expired driving licenses will now face a fine of Rs. 5,000, while motorcycle riders violating the rules will be fined Rs. 2,000. The crackdown against triple riding is also being strictly enforced.
Officials further confirmed that PSV licenses are now mandatory for public transport drivers, whereas HTV licenses are compulsory for heavy vehicle operators.
According to traffic authorities, the operation is aimed at improving traffic discipline, enhancing road safety, and lowering the number of accidents caused by inexperienced drivers in Lahore.
