The Islamabad administration has announced that M-tag registration will be compulsory for all motorcycles from February 20, 2026, as part of the second phase of the city’s vehicle tagging initiative.
This requirement covers all categories of motorcycles, including standard bikes, heavy motorcycles, and ride-hailing bikes, with no exceptions. To receive an M-tag, owners must provide their vehicle registration papers along with their national identity card.
The M-tag sticker will be affixed near the speedometer, and 13 designated centers across Islamabad will handle the registration process. Trained staff will be available at these locations to guide applicants.
This step follows the initial phase, under which M-tags were made mandatory for cars, and is intended to enhance traffic compliance and vehicle monitoring in the capital.
