Ferrari has officially given a name to its first electric car: Ferrari Luce. The company showed part of the car’s interior today in San Francisco. The design group led by former Apple designer Jony Ive. The interior focuses more on physical buttons and controls instead of touchscreens.
The word “Luce” means “light” in Italian. Ferrari says the name shows that electric power is a tool, not the final goal. Ferrari and LoveFrom, which was started by Jony Ive and designer Marc Newson, have been working together on this car’s design for the past five years.
Inside the car, Ferrari has gone against the popular trend of using big touchscreens in electric vehicles. Instead, the company chose real buttons, knobs, switches, and dials that are easy and pleasant to use.
Ferrari will fully reveal the exterior design of the car in May 2026 in Italy.
