The LDA’s governing council has given approval to convert four additional Lahore roads for commercial purposes.
The roads approved for commercial use include:
1. College Road – from Ghazi Chowk to UET Roundabout
2. Defense Road – from Bhobtian Chowk to Kahna
3. GT Road – from Quaid-i-Azam Interchange to BRB Canal
4. Barki Road – from Ring Road to BRB Canal
Meanwhile, the commercial conversion of Sabzazar Road from Liaquat Chowk to Multan Road, along with Samanabad LOS Road, has been deferred.
The meeting was presided over by Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmed of the Lahore Development Authority, while Director General Tahir Farooq presented a briefing on the agenda items.
During the session, revisions to the LDA Rules were approved in accordance with housing sector reforms backed by the provincial cabinet and recommendations put forward by its sub-committee.
The governing body also endorsed proposals from the Directorate of Sales and Allotment and gave the green light for the renovation of the LDA Avenue One Civic Centre.
Additionally, officials sanctioned the introduction of an executive transfer service in LDA City to ease processes for residents. A plot transfer facility will now be provided in LDA City, bringing it in line with other LDA housing schemes.
