The Punjab government has announced that passengers in Lahore can travel free of cost on public buses and rickshaws on February 6, 7, and 8 to mark the Basant celebrations.
Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari stated that the move aims to limit motorcycle usage and minimize the chances of road accidents during the festivities.
She disclosed that authorities are considering a plan to allow limited kite production starting December 30 with tight regulations in place. Metallic strings, chemically treated thread, and all other dangerous kite-flying materials will remain completely banned. Every kite manufacturer, trader, and supplier must register with their respective Deputy Commissioners, and failure to comply could lead to registration cancellation, substantial fines, and imprisonment.
